Project Accountant

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

• 4–6 years of accounting experience in a project-based or cost-accounting environment
• Background in manufacturing, engineering, EPC, construction, or similar industries preferred
• Experience with job costing, project cost tracking, or cost forecasting
• Exposure to WIP, percentage-of-completion, or project revenue recognition
• Familiarity with progress billing, milestones, or customer invoicing tied to project deliverables
• Experience using ERP or project accounting systems (Procore, Sage, Viewpoint, Net Suite, or similar)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple active projects and deadlines

Key Responsibilities

• Track and analyze project costs, budgets, and financial performance
• Prepare cost forecasts and cost-to-complete analysis for active projects
• Support project billing, including progress-based or milestone billing
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition based on project status and financial data
• Partner with project managers and operational teams to review project performance
• Maintain accurate project financial records within ERP or project systems
• Assist with month-end close related to project accounting and cost reporting
• Provide financial insights to support decision-making on active projects
• Follow internal controls and accounting best practices
