Job Summary / Mission:
The Cloud VDI Engineer's mission is to support the Geounits, external users and solutions teams in ensuring the reliability of VDI environment for the customer (internal or external) and adoption is addressed. He/she provides SRE support for the VDI environments deployed in customer environment. Cloud VDI Engineer's is responsible for assisting the Geounits across the engagement life cycle, and ensuring services are operated to meet desired SLAs and reliability requirements.

Relationships:
Direct reporting to the Cloud Deployment Manager
Main Interfaces with:
Internal Engineering, Solution teams (Portfolios), Cloud Operations, and Geounit Services teams.
Schlumberger field organization

Responsibilities and Duties:

Monitor and enhance live services by tracking availability, latency, and system health.
Provide support services prior to launch, including system design consultation, capacity planning, and deployment readiness.
Sustainably scale systems using automation and similar approaches and enhance them by advocating for changes that boost both reliability and speed.
Operate and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop deployments and cloud-based VDI solutions
Manage and support enterprise storage platforms (e.g., Nasuni)
Implement and maintain monitoring and observability tools (Elastic, Log Analytics, AVD Insights, Grafana)
Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, performance, and application issues
Participate in incident response, change management, and continuous improvement discussion with customers
Interface with customers to understand requirements, provide updates, and ensure service excellence
Contribute to automation, documentation, and runbook development Behavior:

Effectively analyzes and solves problems with attention to the root cause Technical skills:

Experience:

7-9 years
Hands-on with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and cloud VDI technologies
Proficiency in monitoring tools:
Elastic Stack, Azure Log Analytics, Application Insights

Experience with high-performance storage:
Nasuni, Net App, or similar
Understanding of Azure Dev Ops (CI/CD), virtualization & Kubernetes
Desired programming skill set in Power Shell, Python, Bash and Node.js
Understanding /

Experience with using various tools like GSUtil, Azcopy etc. (good to have)
Proficiency in Cloud service models e.g. IaaS, SaaS, PaaS
Understanding /

Experience with VDI / VMs, various cloud Storage technologies and Backup / Archival solution
Advanced skills in Cloud infrastructure deployment, firewall and networking, disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Software packaging and automated deployment experience

Experience with service management and alerting tools like Service Now, Pager Duty
Understanding of E&P workflows, and associated Schlumberger technologies (e.g. Petrel, ECLIPSE) - preferred
