RN, Healthcare Nursing, RN Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to child at school and at home.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and document the child's health status throughout the day.
• Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
• Assist with medical devices such as feeding tubes, tracheostomies, oxygen, nebulizer and catheters as needed.
• Collaborate with school staff, family, and healthcare providers.
• Ensure compliance with the care plan developed by the RN Case Manager and physician.
• Document care daily and communicate updates with Sunshine Homecare Services and RN case manager.
• Use appropriate infection control procedures and safety measures.
• Comply with all company policies, practices, and procedures.

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current NY State RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 2 Years of Pediatric Nursing Experience preferred.
• Experience in school or community health nursing is a plus.
• Valid Nursing Degree/Diploma.
• Active New York State RN License.
• Current CPR Certification.

• Strong pediatric care skills required.
• Excellent communication with children, families, and staff.
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly.
• Organized and detail‑oriented documentation skills.
• Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures.

• Ability to remain on school premises for scheduled hours.
• Ability to assist with student mobility and transfers to and from school and when home.
