THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Laurel School District is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly skilled Special Education Teacher to join our student services team. As a district that prides itself on a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) and inclusive excellence, we are looking for a professional who can design and implement individualized instruction that empowers students to reach their full potential.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

· Certification:
Must hold a valid Pennsylvania Professional Educator Certificate in Special Education (PK-12).

· Specialized

Experience:

Preference will be given to candidates with documented experience or expertise in Autistic Support (AS) and/or Life Skills Support (LSS) environments.

· Instructional

Skills:

Organizing and implementing an instructional program, writing high-quality IEPs, maintaining Progress Monitoring, and implementing Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP).

·

Collaboration:

Ability to work effectively with parents, general education teachers, and paraprofessionals within a team oriented "Spartan Strong" culture.

· Compliance:
Must possess current Act 34 (PA State Police), Act 151 (Child Abuse), and Act 114 (FBI Fingerprint) clearances.

COMPENSATION:
Salary and benefits are determined per the current Negotiated Agreement between the Laurel School District and the Laurel Education Association, including all rights an privileges of the collective bargaining unit.
