We have an immediate opening for a Tooling Engineer (2nd shift) in the New Castle, IN facility. Please review the position summary and if qualified you will be contacted.

Qualifications
  • Good understanding of operations and engineering practices and procedures within a JIT manufacturing environment.
  • Good written, verbal, organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proficiently operate manual machining equipment.
  • Previous manufacturing/engineering experience is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate new tooling designs and provide recommendations to improve tooling based on process to allow for ease of part loading, improved part quality, and tool maintenance.
  • Design and build custom assembly tools required for assembly processes.
  • Machine parts required for emergency repair of equipment, spare tooling details, and Kaizen improvement activities.
  • Support downtime reduction and efficiency improvement by analyzing equipment/tooling and recommend/implement countermeasures for process improvement.
  • Coordinate tooling repairs/projects with external vendors.
  • Ensure machining equipment is maintained in good working condition.
  • Maintain inventory of machine shop tooling.
  • Train associates on safe operation of machining equipment.
  • Have the ability to establish and execute a monthly plan.
  • Will ensure daily control items align with the company business plan and key objectives/metrics.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb stairs, use fingers, hands, wrists, arms, lift and/or move a maximum of 50 lbs. occasionally.
