Regional Tractor Trailer Driver – Municipal Group of Companies
TDR Transportation & Logistics, a subsidiary of The Municipal Group of Companies, is a transportation company providing courier and transport services around Atlantic Canada. We are currently seeking a Regional Tractor Trailer Driver to join our team within Atlantic Canada.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Driving locally and among the Maritimes.
- Loading, transporting, and offloading freight.
- Report to the dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws.
- Inspect the trailer before and after the trip, and record any defects found.
- Keep a log of all activities.
- Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Keep the truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order.
- Load and unload deliveries through a variety of mechanisms and delivery assistance devices.
- Use technology to map routes, deliver, pickup, track shipments, and communicate universally.
- Ensure documents are delivered, entered accurately and turned in accordingly.
- Perform all customer tasks in a polite, resourceful and professional manner with overall excellent customer service throughout the process.
- Any other duties as assigned by the manager.
- Proven work experience as a truck driver.
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- No recent moving or driving violations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations, such as traffic or weather conditions.
- Valid Class 1 Driver's License.
- Work both indoors and outdoors.
- Manual dexterity required to operate computer equipment.
- Ability to lift 50–75 pounds.
