HVAC Mechanic

Overview

The HVAC Mechanic for the Morris Cancer Center will install, repair, test and operate all types of air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, and pneumatic systems on a daily basis.

• Operates chillers, fans, pumps, heat exchangers and all other equipment necessary to provide heating, ventilation and air conditioning to the facility.
• Installs, maintains and repairs equipment such as pumps, valves, radiators, fans, motors, heaters, condensate tanks, pneumatic controls, thermostats, fan coil units, refrigeration units and window air conditioning units.
• Installs, maintains and repairs steam, hot water, and chilled water piping, control and stop valves, and related equipment.
• Performs scheduled rounds to inspect and verify proper operation of all HVAC equipment.
• Performs scheduled filter changes in air handling units, fan coil units and window units as per schedule or as needed.
• Monitors and inspects work to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance tasks as required.

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent in HVAC field with certification
• 3-5 years as HVAC mechanic

• Valid New Jersey Driver License
• Certificate in HVAC&R preferred;
  Refrigerant Transition & Recovery Certification (Type II, III or Universal)

• Full-Time, Day Shift
• Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• Every fifth weekend required

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
