OverviewRutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) integrates education, clinical care, and research to improve human health. The Pediatrics department of the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School seeks a Temporary Research Assistant to support feasibility studies of DNA‑sequencing based newborn screening protocols.
Posting SummaryThe position is a 12‑month temporary role, paid hourly at $35–$45 per hour, with full on‑site work arrangement. The primary purpose is to assist with the Begin NGS project, including recruitment, consent, result reporting, and data entry in Red Cap.
Responsibilities- Recruit newborn babies for the Begin NGS project.
- Obtain research consent from mothers of newborns.
- Report testing results to parents and the research team.
- Enter data of positive tests into Red Cap.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in biology or graduate degree in genetic counseling.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Experience in genetic counseling or clinical research.
