Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Post Intensive Care Unit I on 4 Tower at the New Brunswick campus.

Post Intensive Care Unit I on 4 Tower is a busy 32 bed Med Surg/ Tele Cardiac unit. We see a range of telemetry, medical-surgical, and intermediate care patient acuities. Types of patients we care for include post cardiac procedures, sepsis, dialysis, heart failure and respiratory failure.

Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Responsibilities
  • The RN provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, and upholds ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
  • Ensure safety in practice and utilize evidence-based practice; communicate with and utilize resources and programs available to advance knowledge of self and patient care team.
  • Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
  • Know the patient population served.
  • Supervise and direct delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborate with other care providers.
  • Set and evaluate priorities with appropriate interventions and measurable outcomes toward improvement.
  • Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care to address patient needs.
Qualifications
  • Required: ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Preferred: BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
  • At least 2-3 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience
Certifications And Licenses Required
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
Scheduling Requirements
  • Nights Shift, 36 hours per week, 7pm-7:30am
  • Monday – Friday, some weekend and holiday rotation
  • Part-Time
