ResponsibilitiesThe RN provides care for children and adolescents 0-21 years old across pediatric units within the facility, such as the pediatric intensive care unit, neonatal unit, general pediatric floor, and emergency department. The RN on the Pediatric Float Pool Team collaborates with other patient care providers, supervises and directs task delegation to appropriate team members, and utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care to address each patient’s needs.
The RN ensures safety in practice, adheres to evidence-based practices, and reports identified safety issues and medical errors.
The RN consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement. The RN assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others on the patient care team by communicating with and utilizing resources and programs available.
QualificationsRequired:
- ASN or Nursing Diploma
- PALS, ACLS, BLS
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- 2-3 years of Pediatric Medical-Surgical experience
Preferred:
- BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
- Pediatric Critical Care experience
Certifications and Licenses
Required:
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
- PALS, BLS and ACLS certification
Night Shift, 36 hours per week, 7P-7:30AM. Every other weekend and holiday rotation. Part-time status applies.
Essential FunctionsThe Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, maintaining awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. The RN ensures safety in practice, uses evidence-based practice, assesses knowledge and experience, and communicates with and utilizes resources to advance patient care. The RN reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors, understands the patient population served, and collaborates with other care providers.
The RN manages priorities and interventions with measurable outcomes and applies the nursing process to individualize care.
