Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Float RN with at least 1.5 years of experience, ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications, and an active NJ or compact license.
Responsibilities- Work in a pediatric float role covering units such as pediatric hematology/oncology (excluding chemo/infusions), general pediatrics, adolescents, newborn nursery, and special care nursery
- May care for pediatric and adolescent patients, including Med/Surg assignments in all areas of the children's hospital, PICU/NICU, and Peds ED
- Patient ratios are typically 1:5
- Night shift, 3x12 hours per week, 19:00–07:30
- Required to work every other weekend and holidays as applicable
- No block scheduling available
- Floating is required between designated pediatric units
- Uses Epic EMR for charting
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Responsible for comprehensive care in a range of pediatric units, including newborn and adolescent populations
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Maximum of 7 days RTO (requested time off) allowed
- Returning employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before eligibility
- Scrub or dress code follows hospital guidelines
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 1.5 years of pediatric nursing experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS; APHON preferred
- Experience with IV pumps, pulse oximeters, and cardiac monitoring required
- Skills needed: IVs, TPN, G-tube, trach tubes, central lines, foley, NG tubes, respiratory treatments, transfusions, and pre/post-op care
