The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate s educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Qualifications / Education / Training / Certification / Licensure- Education:
Bachelor s degree from an accredited school of nursing (BSN) required. - Licensure:
Currently licensed to practice professionally in the State of New Jersey. - Certifications:
PICC Line certification required within 90 days from date of hire. IV Therapy certification required within 90 days from date of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required. - Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of PICC Line and IV Therapy experience required.
- Exposure to blood, excrement and odors; exposure to infections and communicable diseases; potential exposure to hazardous materials and communicable disease.
- Physical demands: ability to reach, push, pull, lift, walk and stand for most of the shift; ability to function under rapidly changing and stressful conditions.
- Assists in planning and providing traditional and individualized comfort measures; fosters an environment aligned with the CORE mission and model.
- Advocates for patients and families; participates in goal setting; identifies patient readiness to learn and documents outcomes.
- Teaches or coaches by identifying patient readiness to learn; interprets conditions and provides rationales to satisfy patient and family needs; plans for and documents patient needs.
- Manages rapidly changing situations; responds in life-threatening emergencies; resets priorities as needed.
- Detects and documents significant changes in a patient s condition; interprets changes and plans interventions; collaborates with physicians and health care team to determine appropriate actions.
- Administers medications accurately and safely; documents according to Nursing Process and hospital standards; performs and documents unit-specific nursing skills.
- Promotes safe, high-quality patient care; supports quality monitoring activities; collaborates with the health care team; participates in unit-based performance improvement measures.
- Organizes shift assignments to meet patient care needs; may assume charge and preceptor responsibilities; adheres to policies and procedures; demonstrates flexibility and teamwork.
- Dress code, attendance, punctuality; mandatory training; continuing education (30 hours bi-annually).
- Demonstrates awareness of patient safety initiatives and regulatory standards (National Patient Safety goals, regulatory standards such as TJC, CMS, NJDHSS); participates in infection prevention initiatives; practices proper hand hygiene and follows safety protocols.
- Reports errors and high-risk events to supervisor for follow-up.
