Registered Nurse (RN), Pediatric Transport – New Brunswick, NJ (Per Diem, Night Shift)

$47.85 - $71.72 per hour (New Jersey)

RWJBH is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Specialty Care Transport Unit at the New Brunswick campus.

This position functions as an SCTU RN on the Pediatric Transport Team and serves as a valuable resource throughout the institution, assisting with intra-­hospital transports of pediatric patients, conscious sedations, IV placements, etc. The Pediatric SCTU RN prioritizes quality, safety, and customer service with a focus on family‑centered care.

• ASN or Nursing Diploma
• PALS
• 3-5 years of PICU RN or related experience required
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills

• Preferred: BSN or completion within 5 years upon hire
• Pediatric Transport experience preferred
• EMT license preferred
• TNCC certification preferred

• BLS and ACLS certification
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

• Night shift, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
• Monday–Friday, some weekend and holiday rotation
• Per diems

• Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring ethical standards of practice.
• Assure safety in practice, maintain evidence‑based practice, and communicate with resources and team members.
• Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
• Maintain knowledge of the patient population served.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to appropriate team members while collaborating with other patient‑care providers.
• Consistently set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
• Serve as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to individualize care plans.
