Registered Nurse (RN), Pediatric Transport – New Brunswick, NJ (Per Diem, Night Shift)
Pay Range$47.85 - $71.72 per hour (New Jersey)
Job OverviewRWJBH is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Specialty Care Transport Unit at the New Brunswick campus.
This position functions as an SCTU RN on the Pediatric Transport Team and serves as a valuable resource throughout the institution, assisting with intra-hospital transports of pediatric patients, conscious sedations, IV placements, etc. The Pediatric SCTU RN prioritizes quality, safety, and customer service with a focus on family‑centered care.
Qualifications- ASN or Nursing Diploma
- PALS
- 3-5 years of PICU RN or related experience required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Preferred: BSN or completion within 5 years upon hire
- Pediatric Transport experience preferred
- EMT license preferred
- TNCC certification preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
- Night shift, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Monday–Friday, some weekend and holiday rotation
- Per diems
- Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring ethical standards of practice.
- Assure safety in practice, maintain evidence‑based practice, and communicate with resources and team members.
- Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
- Maintain knowledge of the patient population served.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to appropriate team members while collaborating with other patient‑care providers.
- Consistently set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
- Serve as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to individualize care plans.
