Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the New Brunswick campus.

Qualifications

Required:

  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • PALS
  • 3 to 5 years of pediatrics RN experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills

Preferred:

  • BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
  • 1-2 years of PICU RN experience highly preferred

Certifications and Licenses

Required:

  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Responsibilities
  • The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
  • The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice and uses evidence-based practice, communicates with and utilizes resources and programs available to advance knowledge among the patient care team.
  • The Registered Nurse reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
  • The Registered Nurse is responsible for knowledge of the patient population served.
  • The Registered Nurse supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
  • The Registered Nurse sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
  • The Registered Nurse is an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, uses the nursing process to address patient needs and individualizes the plan of care.
