This position is available at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, located in any of the following U.S. locations:
Spring House, PA;
Cambridge, MA;
New Brunswick, NJ;
Raritan, NJ;
Titusville, NJ; or San Diego, CA.
- Contribute to the design and execution of a Data Science & Digital Health (DSDH) RWE strategy in alignment with the Immunology Therapeutic Area (IMM TA) goals.
- Partner with DSDH colleagues and the IMM TA to define and prioritize a portfolio of innovative medicines in development in alignment with the IMM TA strategy.
- Provide strategic input into the Immunology R&D DSDH RWE priorities ranging from individual projects to large collaborations with internal functional areas and external institutions.
- Identify viable data science and digital health opportunities and develop end‑to‑end study design and data analytical solutions, such as predictive algorithms to identify at‑risk patient populations.
- Serve as a liaison to functional area partners, ensuring alignment on key DSDH programmatic goals.
- Execute the DSDH RWE strategy across a matrixed cross‑functional Clinical Development Team.
- Provide strategic leadership on project/program issues, presenting to and negotiating with leadership teams.
- Lead cross‑functional teams evaluating new scientific opportunities, disease areas, and product ideas.
- Participate in diligence activities and cross‑departmental projects with broad impact.
- Author abstracts and scientific manuscripts based on clinical trial data, real‑world data, and observational studies.
- Build relationships with opinion leaders and act as a spokesperson for publication of research findings.
- PhD, Pharm
D, or MD (or equivalent) in statistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, epidemiology, applied mathematics, computer science, physics, engineering, or related fields. A master’s degree with at least 10 years of experience may also be considered. - 8+ years of progressive business experience in pharmaceutical R&D, data science, digital health, or related life‑sciences practices.
- Track record of collaboration in a matrix organization, entrepreneurial skill, and influence of strategic and technical partners.
- Familiarity with data science and digital health.
- Experience with healthcare datasets such as EHR or insurance claims.
- Strong background in RWE/Data Science & Digital Health.
- Knowledge of Immunology.
- Experience delivering data science projects using predictive technologies, data mining, or text mining.
- Experience with healthcare data sets, including EHR, claims, and registry data.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and other data science tools and statistical programming languages.
- Experience defining use cases for deep learning, foundational models, and machine learning.
This position can be hybrid: 3 days on‑site and 2 days remote. Travel of ~15% domestic and international may be required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $164,000 to $282,900, with eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Employees may participate in company‑sponsored benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and a 401(k) plan.
