ResponsibilitiesThe Behavioral Health clinical pharmacist faculty member will:
- Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and medical staff to optimize patient care in the Behavioral Health program across inpatient, emergency department, and ambulatory settings, with a primary focus on inpatient care.
- Organize, develop, and participate in clinical and quality improvement activities.
- Practice under a collaborative practice agreement to optimize inpatient and outpatient pharmacotherapy.
- Participate in quality initiatives to reduce readmissions and enhance medication access.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, provide interprofessional education, and collaborate on policy and procedure development.
- Engage in committee participation, research and medication use evaluations, dosing consults, and support Medication Assistance Treatment initiatives.
- Provide community outreach support and precept Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiential students and PGY-1 residents on psychiatry rotations.
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
- At least two years of residency training with a PGY-2 in Psychiatry/Behavioral Health or equivalent experience.
- Highly motivated, innovative, team-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide patient-centered care, and a commitment to teaching, service, and professional advancement.
- Board certification is preferred.
- Eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of New Jersey is required.

The inpatient psychiatry unit (5W) has 27 beds with daily rounds and group sessions; the outpatient eating disorder unit has 20 beds with daily rounds. While the position focuses on inpatient care, there is room for growth to support other psychiatry services.
The position involves collaboration across inpatient, ED, and ambulatory settings, with a focus on inpatient care, clinical and quality improvement activities, and education for students and residents.
