Advance Practice Nurse

Clear scope of practice and defined clinical expectations

Provide psychiatric evaluations and consultative services for adult patients in the Emergency Department and on inpatient medical units

Conduct risk assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment recommendations

Collaborate closely with medical teams, nursing staff, case management, and social work

Provide medication recommendations and ongoing psychiatric management as appropriate

Document all evaluations and recommendations clearly and timely in the electronic medical record

Participate in interdisciplinary communication to support patient care and discharge planning

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and CFG clinical protocols

Pediatric coverage is limited and applies only to minors admitted to the medical floor, which occurs infrequently.

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with specialization as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Active New Jersey Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license

National PMHNP certification (ANCC)

Active NJ CDS and DEA

Prior experience in hospital-based psychiatric consult-liaison, emergency psychiatry, or inpatient psychiatry

Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and documentation skills

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment

Experience with medically complex and high-acuity patient populations

Familiarity with consult-liaison psychiatry workflows

Comfort collaborating with multidisciplinary medical teams

Hospital-based Consult-Liaison Psychiatry role

Primarily adult patient population

Supportive clinical leadership and established CFG infrastructure
