Research Support Associate – Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies

Location:

New Brunswick, NJ (Downtown New Brunswick campus, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences).

Overview

The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies (formerly Rutgers Center for Tobacco Studies) is one of the nation’s leading tobacco‑focused research centers. With over $50 million in extramural funding over the past two decades, the Institute’s mission is to reduce and ultimately eliminate tobacco‑related morbidity and mortality. Five Centers or Programs currently operate at the Institute including a Tobacco Center for Regulatory Science, the Center of Excellence for Rapid Surveillance of Tobacco, the Tobacco Dependence Program, a Tobacco Industry Marketing Program, and a Tobacco Control Law & Policy Resource Center.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of NIH, University, and INTS policies and procedures around research funding and grants.
  • Coordinates and supports INTS‑wide meetings and workshops to educate faculty and staff on federal, state, institutional, and internal policy changes and ramifications; enhance grantsmanship; and submit high quality funding.
  • Assists PIs, the Research Office, and Finance Office with ongoing tracking and maintenance of Biosketch and Other Support pages.
  • Coordinates across the Research Office, Finance Office, and faculty to ensure these documents are updated, compliant, and aligned with NIH and other funder policies.
  • Supports INTS researchers in maintaining compliance with federal open access regulations through tracking and uploading publications in appropriate databases.
  • Assists with the coordination and preparation of grant applications through the Research Office, under the direction of the Pre‑Award Grants Manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field plus three (3) years of research and/or administrative or related experience required.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory and/or management responsibilities.
Salary and Benefits

Salary: $60,000 – $62,400 (Grade 99S, Nonexempt). Job Status:
Full Time, 40 hours per week. Benefits include:
