Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Mental Health Clinician II for the Eric
B. Chandler Health Center at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
This position provides behavioral health consultation utilizing a team based model to children, adolescents, adults and families in order to improve psychosocial functioning.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
* Provide comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of behavioral health clinets.
* Provide effective treatment planning and assisting clients in successfully achieving goals.
* Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions.
* Actively participate in team and other meetings that support EBCHC's integrated health care model to provide comprehensive care for clients.
* Assist in the detection of "at risk" patients and development of plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration.
* Assist the primary care team in developing care management processes such as the use of guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education to improve self-management of chronic disease.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
* Master's Degree in mental health discipline plus two (2) years post Master's experience in the mental health field.
Certifications/Licenses
* Independent license to practice as required by New Jersey state laws governing the discipline (Licensed Professional Counselor - LPC, Licensed Clinical Social Worker - LCSW, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - LMFT, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor - LCADC, Licensed Psychologist).
* Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence based treatments for medical and mental health conditions.
