Position: Behavioral Health Clinician (LSW/LAC)

New Brunswick Counseling Center (NBCC) is a CARF‑accredited, nonprofit provider of outpatient substance use and mental health services. We deliver respectful, high‑quality care that supports recovery and wellness across our communities.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments for mental health and substance use needs
  • Develop person‑centered treatment plans in partnership with clients
  • Provide individual and group counseling (in‑person and telehealth)
  • Use evidence‑informed practices (e.g., MI, CBT/DBT‑informed skills, relapse prevention, coping skills) as appropriate
  • Support clients with stress management, emotional regulation, recovery supports, and community resources
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and strengthen outcomes
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the EMR in accordance with program standards and compliance requirements
What We’re Looking For
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (accredited program)
  • Active New Jersey licensure: LSW or LAC (required)
  • Commitment to trauma‑informed and culturally responsive care
  • Strong clinical judgment, boundaries, and professionalism
  • Comfortable managing a caseload independently while working collaboratively
  • Proficiency with EMRs and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Preferred (not Required)
  • Experience in outpatient behavioral health, SUD treatment, co‑occurring disorders, MAT/OTP settings, or community mental health
  • Group facilitation experience
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish/other languages)
