Our Financial Services EY EDGE practice is made up of a team of professionals providing dedicated tax technical services to both US and global clients. The State and Local (“SALT”) team is a growing practice within the organization, and you'll see that growth reflected in your career. As a Tax Senior Manager, you'll be immersed in the evolving state and local tax environment serving hedge fund, private equity, banking and real estate clients.

• Analyzing an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights
• Identifying potential opportunities and risks and communicating these to our clients
• Learning and researching current market trends, maintaining credibility as a trusted advisor
• Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve our clients’ tax activities
• Researching our clients’ business operations and building long‑lasting relationships, tailoring advice to their specific needs
• Supervising a motivated team of professionals, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge and opportunities to reach their full potential

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline
• CPA, licensed Attorney or EA
• Minimum of 8 years of professional knowledge in a broad range of state and local Income/Franchise tax processes, concepts and tools
• Experience managing budgets, people and projects
• Proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization
• Technical writing and research experience in a tax context
• Ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects
• Strong influencing skills and confidence to question existing processes

• Proven record in a professional services environment or in-house experience in a wealth and asset management company
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, One Source Tax Compliance Software, Corptax, and/or Premium Pro
• Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues
• Ability to adapt work style to work with both internal and client team members

• Comprehensive compensation and benefits package with performance-based rewards and recognition. Base salary range for this role in the U.S. is $132,700 to $303,200; ranges vary by location.
• Hybrid model: most external client-serving roles work together in person 40‑60% of the time.
