Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Director for the Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities (SJE).

Responsibilities
  • Develop experiences designed to promote and increase the awareness of the campus community as it pertains to social justice, cross-cultural dialogue, and inclusive excellence.
  • Accomplish goals through a combination of designing and coordinating sustained, peer‑led, and on-demand workshop‑based educational opportunities for both students and staff within the Division of Student Affairs.
  • Work in partnership with the Asian American Cultural Center, the Paul Robeson Cultural Center, the Center for Latino Arts and Culture, and the Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities, also known as The Cultural Center Collaborative, in addition to other key campus partners to develop these opportunities holistically.

  • Minimum Salary: 77,919.48
  • Mid‑Range Salary: 96,454.48

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in education, student affairs, or closely related field and at least three (3) years of relevant experience, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver’s license would be required for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to think creatively, multitask, and work well independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience coordinating peer‑led social justice education and dialogical programs in a higher education setting.
  • Five years of relevant experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Clean Driving Record.
