Overview
The Department of Environmental Sciences in the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey seeks Lecturers to teach undergraduate courses for the Academic Year. Candidates will deliver lectures, lead laboratory sessions (environmental microbiology lab, water and wastewater treatment), develop course materials, administer assessments, hold office hours, proctor exams, and coordinate instructional requirements.

Salary: $2,777 per credit (final offer based on qualifications, experience, and available funding)

• Conduct lectures and laboratory instruction for assigned courses.
• Develop course materials, homework, and exam questions.
• Hold office hours and provide academic support to students.
• Grade examinations and assignments.
• Proctor examinations and oversee academic integrity.
• Coordinate course logistics and comply with departmental policies.
Minimum: Master’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, microbiology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated teaching experience and effectiveness is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency with online teaching platforms (Canvas, Zoom, etc.) and ability to deliver instruction in a hybrid or remote environment.
Preferred QualificationsRelevant experience in environmental microbiology laboratory instruction or water and wastewater treatment courses.
