RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS), Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, are seeking a Pediatric Pathologist to join our faculty in New Brunswick, NJ. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-level pediatric pathology services, teach future physicians, and contribute to impactful research within New Jersey’s largest integrated health care delivery system.

The minimum salary for this position if hired to work is $250,000 per year. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.

Posting Summary

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, in conjunction with Rutgers Health, invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level in Pediatric Pathology within the section of Surgical Pathology in the Division of Anatomic Pathology.

The section is responsible for performance of pediatric pathology laboratory services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) — the school’s 650-bed tertiary care core teaching hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. The laboratory also supports the activities of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital, which is connected to RWJUH.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Pediatric Pathology team, consulting with clinical staff and participating in tumor boards. They will play an active role in the educational programs of the Department, including teaching medical students, residents, and clinical fellows, and will be expected to engage in productive research activities. In addition, participation in the autopsy service will be required but limited to pediatric cases.

Subspecialty expertise in areas such as neuropathology, breast pathology, or genitourinary pathology will also be given consideration.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or MBBS degree required
  • Board certification or board eligibility in AP/CP or AP and Cytopathology required
  • Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and academic experience
