Overview

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, in conjunction with Rutgers Health, invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level in Pediatric Pathology within the section of Surgical Pathology in the Division of Anatomic Pathology. The section performs pediatric pathology laboratory services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – the school’s 650-bed tertiary care core teaching hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, and covers the activities of the Bristol-Meyers-Squibb Children’s Hospital connected to the main hospital.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Pediatric Pathology team, consulting with clinical staff and participating in tumor boards, as well as actively participating in the educational programs of the Department, including teaching medical students, residents, and clinical fellows. The candidate will be expected to engage in productive research activities. Participation in the autopsy service will be required, limited to pediatric cases.

Additional subspecialty expertise in areas such as neuropathology, breast pathology, genitourinary pathology, etc., will be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Consult with clinical staff in pediatric pathology and participate in tumor boards.

  • Engage in productive research activities.
  • Participate in the pediatric autopsy service (limited to pediatric cases).
  • Additional subspecialty expertise may be given consideration (e.g., neuropathology, breast pathology, genitourinary pathology).
Qualifications
  • MD, DO, or MBBS required, with board certification or board eligibility in AP/CP or AP and cytopathology.
  • Academic rank and compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience.
