Registered Nurse (RN) - OR General Surgery

Location:

100 Grand Street, New Britain (10126). Shift includes a call, holiday, and weekend component. Join Hartford Health Care, Connecticut’s comprehensive healthcare network, with The Hospital of Central Connecticut as a key acute-care teaching hospital providing inpatient and outpatient services across general medicine and surgery and a wide range of specialties.

We support a patient-centered care model in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the RN utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures to develop a plan of care that meets the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families.

Responsibilities

The registered nurse applies the nursing process to deliver high-quality care, collaborating with the medical staff to ensure standards of practice are met and patient outcomes are achieved.

Key clinical expectations include:

  • Provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced surgical setting.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and clinical judgment to manage multiple priorities.
  • Delegate appropriately to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications

Required:

RN with current Connecticut license.

Preferred: BSN; experience in applicable specialty.

New graduates may work under supervision per State guidelines.
