The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital; we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, we provide a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life.
Responsibilities- Performs general preventive maintenance and repair of various areas around the facility.
- Completes work orders, documents appropriate information on completed work and/or documents the status of equipment to maintain records for regulatory agencies.
- Utilizes materials (wood, metal, concrete, plastics, composites) to fit and install glass windows, pictures, ceiling tiles, perimeter rail systems, wood trim and moldings, medical hardware stations, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations and other projects.
- Performs general outside maintenance (mowing lawns, weeding, raking leaves, trimming bushes, snow removal and ice control tasks (shoveling & salting)).
- Performs minor plumbing repairs and replacements of faucets, toilets and flush valves.
- Performs the decorative application to walls, ceilings and other structures which includes scraping, sanding, filling holes and cracks, removing/replacing outlet and switch covers, masking and applying paint or wall covering to surfaces based on manufacturing specifications.
- 1 year general building maintenance experience required.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Attentive to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to follow established safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Ability to operate woodworking equipment, machinery and hand tools.
