Senior Identity & Access Management Manager (IAM) – Cybersecurity The Job:

As an Identity & Access Management (IAM) Manager – Cybersecurity, you’ll lead the governance, strategy, and advisory function for Identity and Access Management across the organization. You will shape IAM policies and standards, oversee a high‑performing IAM team, and drive key initiatives—including nonhuman identity management, program and process development, identity verification, passwordless authentication, multi‑factor authentication (MFA), eliminating insecure practices, and Active Directory (including Entra ) governance.

You will collaborate with senior leadership, application owners, administrators, architects, auditors, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) partners to ensure secure, compliant, and effective identity management for all workforce, vendor, customer, and non‑human identities. This role focuses on strategy, direction, and continuous improvement, not direct system implementation.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a global IAM team, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance, and inclusive culture that values diversity, equity, and belonging.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain IAM governance framework and security standards in line with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee IAM governance team’s procedures, workflows, and advisory processes to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance.
  • Provide expert strategic advice on identity and access controls, including principles of least privilege and segregation of duties.
  • Advise on IAM solutions and process improvements across internal workers, vendors, customers, and non‑human identities (NHI).
  • Develop and communicate training materials and documentation to support adoption of IAM policies and standards across the organization.
  • Conduct assessments of IAM processes to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies regarding IAM governance and compliance.
  • Identify and drive improvements in IAM processes to enhance efficiency, security, and compliance.
  • Advise on IAM risk mitigation strategies and ensure IAM risks are integrated into enterprise risk management processes.
  • Monitor IAM systems (e.g., SailPoint ISC, Active Directory including Entra , Cyber Ark, Beyond Trust) and ITSM platforms (e.g., Service Now) to identify and advise on security risks.
  • Stay informed about the latest IAM technologies and best practices, including SSO, passwordless authentication, and emerging threats, and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Influence and collaborate with senior leadership, business units, and technical teams to drive adoption of IAM governance and best practices.
  • Champion change management efforts for new IAM policies, technologies, and processes; address and manage resistance to change across the organization.
  • Advise on investigation of security incidents related to identity and access management and recommend corrective actions.
  • Escalate governance issues and ensure timely resolution through advisory and collaboration.
  • Prepare and present periodic reports (annual, quarterly, monthly) on IAM program status, effectiveness, incidents, metrics, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Communicate IAM standards and policies to users and stakeholders across the organization.
  • Develop and track KPIs and metrics to measure and report on the effectiveness of the IAM program; utilize metrics and benchmarking to drive continuous improvement and alignment with industry standards.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to drive adoption and understanding of IAM standards and practices.
  • Support succession planning and career development for IAM team members.
The Person :
  • Undergraduate degree and 8–10 years of relevant experience, or graduate degree and 6–8 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience totaling 8–10 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IAM frameworks and best practices (e.g., ISO
