Behavioral Health Counselor or Clinician I – Full‑time – 1st Shift – Mon‑Fri

Compensation Range
- Behavioral Health Counselor: $24.00 per hour.
- Clinician I: $57,000 annual salary, $5,000 sign‑on incentive ($2,500 after 6 months, $2,500 after 1 year).
Position Summary
Serves as an active part of a multidisciplinary team that provides assessment and therapeutic services to adults, children and/or adolescents who present with a wide range of significant behavioral health needs. Treatment is aimed at assisting individuals and/or families by helping them develop the skills necessary to improve their quality of life.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintains all trainings and certifications as required by program model.
- Completes documentation within designated time frames as established by CMHA and external regulatory agencies.
- Performs comprehensive intake assessment that results in diagnosis and recommendations for psychiatric and substance abuse treatment for adults and/or children.
- Integrates assessment tools and establishes diagnosis to create clinical formulation within designated timeframe.
- Provides individual, family and/or group treatment utilizing evidence‑based practices to facilitate positive strength‑based change.
- Develops achievable goals with client, with measurable and behavioral objectives within designated time frames; monitors treatment progress and provides updates as clinically indicated.
- Collaborates with other providers by providing all pertinent clinical information in a timely manner.
- Responds to crisis situations and triages appropriately, communicating clearly with internal and external providers/stakeholders.
- Provides referrals and linkage to community and internal resources as necessary.
- Secures reimbursement for services rendered by submitting accurate documentation in a timely manner.
- Adheres to all state, federal, Joint Commission and other oversight regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Behavioral Health Counselor: Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health discipline; active master’s‑level program in behavioral health discipline; certified in MANDT, first aid, and CPR; valid Connecticut Driver’s License.
- Clinician I: Associates license (MFTA, PCA, LMSW); eligible for LCSW, LMFT, LPC; certified in MANDT, first aid, and CPR; valid Connecticut Driver’s License.
