CMHA is looking to hire a Full‑time, 2nd shift Recovery Specialist for our Transitional Living Center (TLC) program. This position will be located at 66 Clinic Dr. New Britain, CT 06051. Sunday – Thursday, 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM.

The salary for this position starts at $20 per hour.
Position Summary
:
The Recovery Specialist serves as a case manager to support, teach, advocate and empower clients with mental health, medical and substance‑use needs. This includes developing person‑centered recovery goals to live, learn, socialize, work and maintain health and wellness in the community.
- Provides advocacy, support and guidance with contacting external organizations (Social Security, DSS, DCF, DMHAS, etc.).
- Educates clients to utilize emergency and community resources to help meet basic needs.
- Works with clients to teach life skills necessary to live independently in the community, including finances, housing maintenance, and daily living activities.
- Collaborates and integrates with other CMHA teams to ensure all services provided to the client are communicated with the client’s whole treatment team.
- Assures timely documentation is maintained in accordance with CMHA policies and procedures, including progress notes, treatment plans, authorizations, program orientation, consent to treat, activity logs, and monthly targeted case‑management notes; maintains appropriate caseload.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental‑health related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Will become certified in MANDT, First Aid, and CPR.
- Participate in training courses on an annual basis, as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Beginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
- Experience in or willingness to learn how to use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
