About CCARC Direct Support Professionals

CCARC Per Diem Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays an important role in providing compassionate and individualized support to individuals with developmental disabilities across various programs and settings. This position offers flexible, variable hours to meet the dynamic needs of the individuals served. The primary goal is to enhance the quality of life for individuals by promoting independence, dignity, and community integration through personalized care and support.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a related caregiving role
  • Ability to pass background checks
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for community-based activities).
  • willingness to obtain certification in CPR, First Aid, PMT, and DDS Medcertification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to document and report effectively.
  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in accordance with their individualized service plans.
  • Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration
  • Facilitate community integration by supporting participation in social, recreational, and educational activities.
  • Monitor and document individuals' progress, behaviors, and any changes in health or well-being, reporting concerns promptly to supervisory staff.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment by adhering to all organizational policies, health and safety regulations
Skills

The required skills enable the DSP to provide compassionate, individualized care while ensuring safety and well-being. Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with individuals, families, as well as for accurate documentation and reporting. Problem-solving and adaptability are critical when responding to the unique and changing needs of each individual. Preferred skills, such as behavior management and knowledge of community resources, enhance the DSP’s ability to support client independence and integration.

Time management and organizational skills help the DSP balance variable schedules and maintain compliance.

This position allows you to maintain flexibility in your availability. You will be required to work a minimum of two shifts a month and maintain all mandatory trainings.
