Community Mental Health Affiliates, Inc. (CMHA) is a private non‑profit treatment provider headquartered in New Britain, with seven locations throughout the city and in Waterbury. We partner with clients and the community to promote recovery from mental illness and substance use, treating more than 7,500 adults and children each year. CMHA is Connecticut’s first fully Joint Commission accredited Behavioral Health Home and is a SAMHSA Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).

CMHA is looking to hire a Full‑time Veteran Clinician I or II for our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Program. This position will be located at 233 Main St. New Britain, CT 06051. Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM.

Compensation Range:

Clinician I – The annual salary range for this position starts at $57,000.

Clinician I are eligible for a 5,000k sign‑on

Clinician II – The annual salary range for this position starts at $68,500.

Clinician II are eligible for a $7,000k sign‑on

Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience, education, and skills, but also by maintaining internal pay equity. CMHA also takes into consideration our benefits and paid time off package to provide a well‑rounded and competitive approach to the applicant’s overall compensation.

Position Summary:

Serves as an active part of a multidisciplinary team that provides assessment and therapeutic services to adults, children and/or adolescents who present with a wide range of significant behavioral health needs. Treatment is aimed at assisting individuals and/or families by helping them develop the skills necessary to improve their quality of life.

  • Maintains all trainings and certifications as required by program model.
  • Completes documentation within designated time frames as established by CMHA and external regulatory agencies.
  • Performs comprehensive intake assessment that results in diagnosis and recommendations for psychiatric and substance abuse treatment for adults and/or children.
  • Completes assessment tools, integrates pertinent information to establish diagnosis, and analyzes data to create clinical formulation within designated timeframe.
  • Performs individual, family and/or group treatment utilizing evidence-based practices to facilitate positive strength‑based change.
  • Develops achievable goals with client, with measurable and behavioral objectives within designated time frames. Monitors treatment progress and provides updates within identified time frames and as clinically indicated.
  • Collaborates with other providers by providing all pertinent clinical information in a timely manner.
  • Responds to crisis situations and triages appropriately, communicating clearly with internal and external providers/stakeholders to meet presenting client needs.
  • Provides referrals and linkage to community and internal resources as necessary to address client need.

    Completes documentation within designated time frames as established by CMHA and external regulatory agencies.
  • Secures reimbursement for services rendered by submitting accurate documentation in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to all state, federal, Joint Commission and other oversight regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Clinician I:
    Must have associates license (MFTA, PCA, LMSW);
    Must be eligible for LCSW, LMFT, LPC
  • Clinician II:
    Must have a Connecticut license as a LCSW, LMFT, LPC, Ph.D., or LADC as appropriate for services.
  • Will be certified in MANDT, first aid, and CPR
  • Bi‑lingual preferred (Spanish/English)
  • Valid Connecticut Driver’s License
Preferred qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with veterans is preferred
