Position: Retirement Plan Sales Consultant / Financial Advisor

Headwaters Talent Advisors is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a growing financial advisory platform seeking an experienced Retirement Plan Sales Consultant / Financial Advisor to join its Connecticut team.

This role is designed for professionals who work with corporate retirement plans and defined contribution clients and are interested in expanding their practice while partnering with a firm that provides strong operational, compliance, and client service support.

The platform allows advisors to focus on developing relationships and growing their client base while leveraging an established infrastructure to support plan consulting, administration, and participant services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect and develop new corporate retirement plan relationships
  • Advise plan sponsors on retirement plan structure, investments, and fiduciary responsibilities
  • Conduct plan reviews including performance analysis, fee benchmarking, and plan design recommendations
  • Evaluate and monitor investment lineups against industry benchmarks
  • Deliver employee education sessions and retirement planning guidance
  • Support new client onboarding and participate in finalist presentations
  • Collaborate with internal teams on plan operations and participant services
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of financial services or retirement plan consulting experience
  • Experience working with 401(k) or defined contribution plans
  • Active licensing required:
  • Series 6 & 65 or Series 7 & 66
  • Life & Health Insurance License
  • Strong relationship-building and business development skills
  • Compensation is primarily commission-based
    , with potential base salary support depending on experience and existing client relationships
  • Typical base salary support ranges from $85K – $105K
    , plus commission opportunities
  • Higher base compensation may be considered for candidates bringing an established book of business
