Assistant Professor of Biomolecular Sciences, Department of Biomolecular Sciences, Central Connecticut State University invites applications to join the department as a full-time Assistant Professor beginning Academic Year . About the Biomolecular Sciences DepartmentThe Biomolecular Sciences department offers degree programs for undergraduate and master’s students in Biomolecular Sciences, an accelerated BS-MS pathway, and contributes to interdisciplinary programs in Biochemistry and the Official Certificate Program in Pre-Health Studies.

Position ProfileThe successful candidate will teach introductory undergraduate courses; teach upper-level courses for Biomolecular Sciences majors in an area of Cell and Molecular Biology; and teach graduate-level courses in their area of expertise. Beyond the classroom, we mentor students in multi-semester independent research experiences as an integral part of our program. The new faculty member will establish and maintain an active, non-clinical research program suitable for undergraduate and master’s level student participation.

Applicant Evaluative CriteriaApplicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:
- Education:
All applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field - Experience and Training (required):
Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Cell and Molecular Biology; demonstrated ability to engage undergraduate students in research - Ideal Candidate
Preference will be given to applicants with any or all of the following:
- Experience teaching and mentoring students in both classroom and laboratory settings at the undergraduate and master’s level
- A proposed research program appropriate for our students and facilities, preferably one that integrates cell culture techniques
- Postdoctoral research experience
- Experience in outreach and/or involvement with student organizations
- Grant writing experience

In accordance with the Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors (AAUP) Collective Bargaining Contract, compensation for this position is at the Assistant Professor level for .
