PositionProfile
This leadership role is central to advancing the School's mission of preparing the next generation of high-impact educators. Through oversight of academic programs; support for outreach and community engagement; stewardship of infrastructure, assisting the Dean with budget and personnel; coordination of accreditation activities; and partnership with faculty to plan, evaluate, and continuously improve curriculum in alignment with NECHE standards, the Associate Dean will fulfill a major role in the School of Education.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of and ability to apply federal and state laws and regulations as well as university and BOR/CSCU policies and procedures. Knowledge of and ability to apply best practices of designated unit and program. Understanding of academic policies and accreditation standards, along with a working knowledge of the accreditation processes and requirements. Ability to collect, analyze, and prepare data. Ability to handle complex tasks, meet deadlines, and prepare reports.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to use academic technologies, equipment, platforms, and software. Progressive leadership or managerial role that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of strategic planning, management, team building, leadership skills, fiscal management, and best practices research. Evidence of successful university teaching, scholarship, and service. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collegial manner with students, faculty, staff, administration, and the public.
Ability to convene and collaborate with campus offices, departments, and community resources.
All applicants must possess a terminal degree (Ph.D., Ed.D. or equivalent) from an accredited institution of higher education.
Experience and TrainingSeven (7) years of experience of increasing responsibility in higher education.
Ideal CandidatePreference will be given to applicants with the following:
Experience with grant seeking, proposal writing, and fundraising. Experience with community service learning and/or community partnerships.
