Internal Audit Senior – Hybrid
30% Travel Expected. 30% On Site - Various Locations, 70% Remote
The Internal Audit Senior is responsible for executing internal audit engagements to assess the effectiveness of SBD internal controls, risk management processes, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role involves conducting comprehensive audits, identifying improvement opportunities, and providing recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks.
Responsibilities- Execute internal audit engagements, including planning, scoping, fieldwork, and reporting phases.
- Plan audits by performing focused interviews to develop a risk‑based work program.
- Conduct fieldwork: walkthroughs, testing, and analytical tests in accordance with the audit program.
- Draft and share audit reports with findings, root‑cause analysis, and remediation plans.
- Participate in External Audit (EY) Direct Assist work including testing and inventory counts.
- Identify control gaps and opportunities to improve process efficiency using risk assessment, accounting, finance, or operational experience.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies indicating potential risks or control weaknesses.
- Collaborate with management and stakeholders to develop and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
- Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and provide guidance to ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging risks to enhance the internal audit function.
- Demonstrate excellent organization, willingness to learn, and a love of travel to effectively perform audit engagements.
- Utilize effective communication skills to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Travel domestically and internationally approximately 30% of the time; role requires regular movement across large production and distribution areas.
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–5 years of work experience in operations, internal audit, or public accounting.
- CPA, CMA, or CIA preferred.
- Manufacturing experience a plus.
- Proven experience in internal auditing, risk management, or related fields, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and auditing standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and effective organizational skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Salary range: $62,200 – $100,200 per year (location dependent).
