- Inspect, repair, and maintain machinery, mechanical equipment, and building systems
- Perform plumbing work, basic electrical repairs and upgrades, and maintain HVAC systems
- Repair and construct building structures, including partitions, drywall, plaster, roofs, windows, doors, floors, and painting
- Maintain and repair equipment used in cafeterias, laboratories, offices, and factory areas
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical switches, lighting, HVAC rooftop units, and unclog drains
- Coordinate, schedule, and oversee outside contractors for repairs and facility upgrades
- Source and obtain supplies, tools, and repair parts from storerooms or distributors
- Use hand and power tools (screwdrivers, drills, saws, wrenches, hammers) and electronic testing equipment to repair or replace worn or damaged parts
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure efficient operation of building systems and equipment
- Follow maintenance checklists to inspect motors, drives, belts, fluid levels, filters, and other components
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and completed tasks
- Read and interpret service manuals, blueprints, schematics, and written instructions
- Use computers to manage work orders, email communication, timesheets, and HVAC control systems
- Perform multiple tasks across indoor and outdoor locations and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Work in physically demanding conditions, including prolonged standing, heavy lifting, extreme temperatures, confined spaces, ladders, lifts, and rooftops
- Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and problem-solving skills
- Work independently with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment and decision-making
- Follow safety procedures, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and participate in mandatory safety, compliance, and environmental training
