RN, Registered Nurse - Post Surgical PACU

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - New Braunfels (CSR H‑NB) is a full‑service, 94‑bed facility located in downtown New Braunfels.

The Nurse works independently, providing routine and complex care, and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation.

• Meets expectations of the applicable CHRISTUS Competencies.
• Provides nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Addresses the psychological, emotional, cultural and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments and monitors for side‑effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.

• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.

• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial on‑boarding requirements are validated through successful completion of the designated organizational entry competency validation and a per‑operative department‑specific competency validation.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.

• Perioperative RN Residency or recently practicing in an OR/Perioperative setting preferred.

• Current ACLS certification required.
• Current PALS or ENPC certification required.
