Senior Pastor

Purpose and Scope

To oversee and lead the preaching and teaching ministries of New Braunfels Bible Church and manage church staff to facilitate the spiritual health and spiritual growth of the body. The Senior Pastor functions in partnership with the elders and in cooperation with their oversight.

• Study diligently and faithfully teach the Word of God for the building up and equipping of the body for the work of the ministry.
• Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to the congregation, fostering a culture of faith, love, and service.
• Serve as an Elder of the church, and in conjunction with the Elders, develop and implement strategic plans for the healthy growth of the body including leadership development and overall ministry oversight.
• Plan and lead Sunday services, collaborating with the Worship and AV teams, and ensuring that services are meaningful and spiritually enriching.
• Facilitate and encourage meaningful fellowship and spiritual growth through support of small group ministries, Bible studies, and other educational programs or fellowship events.
• Hire, terminate and supervise all church (pastoral and non-pastoral) staff, in consultation with the Elders, except as otherwise determined by the Elders.
• Encourage and promote evangelism and missions
• In conjunction with the Elders, oversee the administration and management of church operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and personnel management.

Doctrinal summary: dispensational, pretribulation rapture and premillennial. We believe all are sinners, God desires to save all, Christ died for all, and that faith (belief, trust) in Christ's substitutionary death and resurrection is the one requirement for receiving eternal life.

Qualifications, Training, and

Experience:

• Seminary training or systematic training within a local church.
• Experience shepherding a church through the pastorate or active eldership.
• Biblically sound/able to clearly articulate the gospel of grace
• Meets the biblical criteria for eldership as described in: 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4
• Affirms the NBBC Statement of Faith.
