Position: Facility Manager (Full Time)

The New Braunfels Youth Collaborative’s (NBYC) mission is to inspire and uplift the next generation by providing dynamic and inclusive out-of-school time activities and resources to teens.As a 501(c)3, non-profit organization serving 12- to 18-year-olds in 6th – 12th grade, the NBYC is committed to nurturing the potential of young minds, fostering personal growth, and creating a well-rounded out-of-school experience.

At the New Braunfels Youth Collaborative, we are building a bridge between school and home through the creation of the Mill Street Youth Center. A safe and supportive space, the Center will welcome all middle school and high school-aged youth in New Braunfels during their out-of-school time (after school, weekends, school holidays, summer).

GENERAL

PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Facility Manager managers the daily maintenance activities for the Mill Street Youth Center.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facility and Infrastructure
  • Oversee all aspects of maintenance needs and serve as liaison for contractors and vendors providing services to the facility (i.e. pest control, landscapers, etc.).
  • Ensure safe, clean facilities, and develop maintenance programs.
  • Oversees the efficient operation and maintenance of electrical, audio/visual, plumbing and HVAC systems.
  • Plans, coordinates, implements, and supervises the general maintenance and cleaning of the facility to include custodial, painting, carpentry and general maintenance.
  • Maintains and processes records, documents, and files associated with the daily and ongoing maintenance of the entire facility.
  • Maintain vehicle fleet for agency, ensure all vehicles are running well and up to date on inspections.
  • Assist with facility rentals and procedures.
  • Prepares cost estimates and recommends acceptance, rejection, or modification of contracted work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent, AND three years of supervisory experience in building maintenance and mechanical operations, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Licenses or

Certifications:
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications are required and must be obtained within six months of hiring.
Required Knowledge of:
  • Best practices for maintenance and operation of education, recreation, and/or fitness facilities.
  • Methods, techniques, products, tools, equipment, and systems for facilities operation, maintenance and renovation, including electrical, audio, visual, plumbing and HVAC systems.
Required Skill in:
  • Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
  • Operating a personal computer.
  • Performing maintenance operations to assure facilities are efficiently and safely maintained.
  • Promoting and enforcing safe work practices.
  • Experience in the operation of light and heavy equipment, tools, and communication equipment.
  • Knowledge to appropriately read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manual, and blueprints.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions; exposure to hazardous chemicals and equipment; subject to sitting, standing, and reaching for extended periods of time walking over uneven terrain and surfaces; climbing of ladders and stairs; and ability to safely pull, push, lift, carry, and move items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Starting pay: $55, (negotiable dependent upon qualifications)
