Job SummaryThe overall purpose of the Community Relations Coordinator is to build community census by being the primary coordinator for referrals, tours, and admissions. The Coordinator has responsibility for ensuring that all information is obtained, documented, and communicated to the appropriate staff within the community. The Coordinator is responsible for timely conversions of inquiries to admissions.
Qualifications- Preferably one-year experience in a long-term care setting with demonstrated evidence of census development.
- Excellent verbal and written skills required; public speaking skills may be necessary.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Responsible for obtaining family commitment to tour the community on viable referrals. Conduct a professional tour utilizing clinical and financial personnel with the objective of gaining admission.
- Conduct the admission process of signing and explaining admission policies and procedures to residents and family. Ensure all paperwork is complete upon admission.
- Coordinate gaining admission approval for all referrals.
- Ensure that the budgeted census mix is met or exceeded.
- Attend daily department manager meeting to update on referrals, admissions and follow up on all outstanding issues to obtain admission.
- Responsible for a ninety-day marketing plan to achieve goals for occupancy and quality mix targets.
- Identify barriers to the admissions process and communicate barriers to the Executive Director and Director of Business Development.
- Conduct sales calls to designated targeted referral sources which may include, but not be limited to, physicians, hospitals, social workers, and community organizations.
- Document all necessary information on inquiries utilizing the inquiry follow-up log.
- Serve on various committees as requested by the Executive Director.
- Have reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Networks Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and know the employee's responsibility to enforce it.
- Attend weekly in-services, understand, and comply with Resident Care Management Systems.
- Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
- Perform other duties and/or tasks as assigned.
