We are seeking an experienced Trusts and Estates Paralegal with a strong background in Estate Administration to join a growing team in New Bern. This role is vital to the firm's mission of providing compassionate and precise service to clients during sensitive times. You will manage the lifecycle of estate administration, from initial probate filings to the final distribution of assets, serving as a trusted point of contact for fiduciaries and beneficiaries alike.

- Probate Management: Navigate the complexities of the North Carolina probate process, including the preparation and filing of all necessary petitions, inventories, and accountings with the Clerk of Superior Court.
- Fiduciary Support: Assist executors and administrators in their legal duties, including identifying assets, resolving debts, and managing distributions.
- Tax Coordination: Collaborate on the preparation of estate and fiduciary income tax returns and manage post-mortem tax planning tasks.
- Client Engagement: Serve as a compassionate and professional liaison for families, ensuring they are informed and supported throughout the administration process.
- Document Drafting: Prepare sophisticated legal documents including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney as needed to support the broader practice.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience specifically in Estate Administration and probate within a law firm setting.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of North Carolina probate laws, rules, and local court procedures.
- Education: Paralegal certificate or degree from an ABA-approved program is preferred.
