This role is within Community Supports, and we are seeking passionate individuals who demonstrate strong active support skills to empower and enrich the lives of others for our Direct Support and Day Program team in Coffs Harbour. Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 2, $34.58 per hour + 25% Casual Loading + Super

Disability Support Workers have the privilege of working alongside people every day to ensure they are living a full and active life both in the community and in their home. As a Support Worker you are keen to ensure people feel listened to, valued and that they are capable of achieving amazing things. You like to celebrate the small achievements and the big life changing moments, and you know that this looks different for everyone.

You will be able to assist our people with personal care, transportation and being out in the community through direct support and day programs.

Essential Requirements Of

The Role
  • Ability and willingness to provide personal care and support
  • High level of resilience and emotional intelligence
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated flexibility in methods of alternative and augmentative communication, particularly being able to use active listening skills
  • Undergo a satisfactory background check including NDIS Workers Check and/or Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Hold a current driver's licence (minimum P2)
  • Flexible to travel from time to time to support your team and your participants
  • Valid First Aid Certificate (HLTAID
    011)
  • Have personal mobile device that meets our system requirements, which is typically a device purchased in the last three years
  • Certificate III in Disability Services (desirable)
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Comprehensive Car Insurance and Motor Vehicle Registration
