Education and Outreach Specialist

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity that helps people in our community? Easterseals PORT Health is a non-profit service provider in North Carolina & Virginia. We are seeking a compassionate, caring, and dedicated Education and Outreach Specialist to join our collaborative, multidisciplinary One Community team in the Southeast Region of the Trillium service area designed to increase access to care, health literacy, health awareness, and education.

The Education and Outreach Specialist serves as a bridge between community members and providers through outreach and education across the Southeast Region Trillium counties. The Education and Outreach Specialist provides support to the team by attending community events that may include evenings, weekends and holidays. Flexibility is essential to accommodate community events outside of standard business hours. This is a community-based position and candidates must reside in Craven County.

You must be comfortable traveling to the following counties:
Craven, Lenoir, Green, Pitt, Beaufort and Pamlico and surrounding counties. Applicant must reside in Craven County. This position requires applicants to be comfortable speaking with community members of diverse backgrounds and work at festivals including Mum Fest, Pride and Juneteenth. Management preference:
Experience with the unhomed population and/or community-based experience.

• Attend community events (evenings, weekends, holidays) and serve as a liaison between community members and providers.
• Travel to Craven, Lenoir, Green, Pitt, Beaufort, Pamlico and surrounding counties as needed.
• Engage with diverse populations at festivals (e.g., Mum Fest, Pride, Juneteenth).
• Collaborate with the One Community team in the Southeast Region to increase health literacy and access to care.

Hourly rate: $18. Comprehensive benefits eligible positions include medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus an optional Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Mileage reimbursement in addition to hourly pay. Life and disability insurance, a 403(b) retirement plan. Public Student Loan Forgiveness qualifier. To join our team as the Education and Outreach Specialist you must have working relationships with community referrals, the ability to manage multiple projects, and great attention to detail.

Note:

This position has a fluctuating work schedule. You must be able to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.

• High School diploma or GED required
• Maintain valid NC driver’s license and auto insurance for personal and agency vehicles utilized for work
