Responsible for admission of cardiac surgery patients, patient rounds, consultations, H&Ps and patient discharges and First Assist in the operating room. The Physician Assistant interprets the data, develops, and implements therapeutic plans, and follows through on patient care while providing health education to patients about ways to improve, promote, and maintain their health status.

Must demonstrate successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. A Bachelor''s degree required;
Master''s degree strongly preferred. Must be certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Maintain current AHA BLS/ACLS certifications. Must hold a current North Carolina registration number and a current NCCPA certificate. Must work under the supervision of an M.D. A copy of the PA’s Scope of Service must be on file at Carolina East Health System.
