Job Purpose StatementThe Engineer II, Manufacturing Product Introduction provides engineering leadership and hands‑on support for new product projects on the manufacturing shop floor and serves as the primary manufacturing liaison to product development, ensuring seamless integration of new products and engineering changes into production. Through early and active engagement in product design, the role drives robust, efficient, and scalable manufacturing processes that meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

- Serve as manufacturing liaison for product development and new product release activities.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and BSH appliance designs to engineering solutions.
- Lead manufacturing support during Pre‑Pilot, Pilot, launch, and ongoing production phases.
- Actively manage the integration of product engineering changes into production.
- Apply product development expertise to influence design decisions that enable robust, efficient manufacturing.
- Drive Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Support PFMEA development with product design, functionality, and process inputs.
- Identify critical parts and processes, lead build strategies, tolerance analyses, and risk assessments.
- Assist product development teams in closing process‑impacting design changes.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve production processes to ensure stability, efficiency, and scalability.
- Research innovative product and process technologies; develop business cases and lead implementation.
- Develop and manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables for sub‑projects and assigned engineering tasks.
- Work independently with broad responsibility, resolving complex technical and process issues.
- Provide technical leadership within project teams and working groups.
- Coach and mentor engineer I and engineering co‑ops as required.
- Utilize CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD) and analytical methods to support layout, tooling, and process design.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen by aligning engineering decisions with cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes and production systems
- Experience supporting product development, engineering change management, and production launches
- Demonstrated experience with DFMA, PFMEA, and risk‑based process development
- Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD or equivalent) and manufacturing analysis tools (SPC, line balancing, ergonomics)
- Ability to manage multiple engineering tasks and timelines independently
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Experience in appliance or consumer durable goods manufacturing
- Comprehensive knowledge of BSH product designs and product portfolio
- Experience leading sub‑projects or technical work streams within larger programs
- Familiarity with build strategies, tolerance analysis, and critical part identification
Four‑Year College:
Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field of study (Required)
Travel Percentage: 30%
Required Experience- 3 - 5 Years:
Working experience in manufacturing or product/process engineering, preferably supporting new product introduction – Qualified individual (Required) - 5 - 7 Years:
Working experience in manufacturing or product/process engineering, preferably supporting new product introduction – Highly qualified individual (Preferred)
