Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.

Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.

Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.

Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.

Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).

Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.

Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons where applicable.

Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special advertisements.

Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.

Reinforce safety programs by following safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.

Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.

Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and answering questions about products.

Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.

Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.

Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.

Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction.

Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
