Summary: The Entry Level Warehouse/Shipping laborer is responsible for learning all basic operations of the distribution center.

• Ability to learn how to use all company lift trucks correctly and safely.
• Ability to learn how to enter and retrieve data from the computer system.
• Ability to learn how to stock domestic product correctly.
• Ability to identify and match product numbers from Pick slip(s) to cartons in location.
• Ability to pull product from location in a timely manner. (2 and a half minutes per line item)
• Must have above average mathematical skills.
• Must have above average handwriting skills.
• Must be able to work at heights of 16 to 20 feet.
• Must be able to consistently bend and lift packages weighing on average 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to self-motivate.
• Maintain cleanliness in a prescribed manner

Education and/or

Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language

Skills:

Ability to read, write, and comprehend English. Follow simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of Milwaukee Valve.

Mathematical

Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
