A well-established New Berlin manufacturer is seeking an experienced Machine Builder to join the team. This hands‑on role combines technical assembly work with leadership and coordination responsibilities. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, highly organized, and enjoys leading in a fast‑paced environment. As a Lead Machine Builder, you'll oversee the building of precision machinery from start to finish ensuring quality, efficiency, and team success every step of the way.

1st Shift

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm.
Pays base on experience, includes health insurance, dental, 401k, paid holiday, and paid time off.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and assemble complex machinery and subassemblies following blueprints, schematics, and detailed build instructions.
  • Lead and coordinate day‑to‑day activities of the assembly team to meet project timelines and production goals.
  • Organize workflow, assign priorities, and monitor progress throughout the assembly process.
  • Perform mechanical layout, drilling, tapping, fitting, and alignment of components using appropriate tools and hardware.
  • Verify all mechanical parts, fasteners, and materials are correctly installed and meet quality standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate material or component shortages to purchasing and production teams.
  • Maintain detailed records of project status, work completed, and any build‑related issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, electrical, and machining departments to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical challenges.
  • Train, mentor, and support assembly technicians on best practices, assembly techniques, and safety procedures.
  • Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment while maintaining adherence to company quality standards.
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of hands‑on experience in machine building, mechanical assembly, or custom equipment manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership or team coordination experience in a production or assembly environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to improving processes.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills across multiple departments.
