1st Shift Production Lead – Dry Powder Division

Fortress Nutrition is hiring an experienced
1st Shift Production Lead to assist in overseeing daily production and personnel in Dry Powder division.
The right candidate will have previous experience as a Lead within the Food/Beverage and Dry Blending industry, and a stable work history with previous employers.

Must be able to be accountable to the company’s need for overtime & weekend work as required.

1st shift – Monday – Friday 6:00am-2:30pm, over-time and weekends required per production needs

• Assist in supervising and support production employees during the shift.
• Keep the Powder division/work area safe, clean, and compliant with food safety rules.
• Ensure daily production goals are met while maintaining product quality and food safety.
• Work side-by-side with team members to solve problems as they come up.
• Help train, motivate, and grow team members, as well as handle sensitive employee interactions, including disciplinaries, performance management, corrective action, separations, etc.
• Promote continuous improvement throughout the department and work area.
• Provide daily production reports to Director of Operations.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 4+ years of experience leading, overseeing,and directing a team (including performance management, coaching, training, disciplinaries, interviewing, etc.)
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Ability to quickly and thoughtfully adjust priorities and adapt to changes in production as needed
• Must be able to proficiently read, write, and communicate in English
• Flexibility to work overtime during the week, and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a food/beverage manufacturing environment with understanding of food safety/quality programs such as GMPs, food safety, and sanitation standards
• Previous experience in a blending/batching role, understanding blending principles and basic shop math

• Frequently required to stand; walk; talk or hear; reach above shoulders; use hands to finger, handle, grasp, pinch or touch objects, controls, tools or equipment; kneel, crouch and use foot/feet to operate machinery; bend at the waist; climb or balance
• Frequently required to lift, carry, move, push or pull materials, product or equipment up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to ten (10) or more hours in a single shift
